Forum: feature_films Subject: Copyrighted or Not?

Hi, I'm thinking of uploading the following, are any of them copyrighted?

Ali Baba and the Seven Saracens (1964)
Code Name Zebra AKA Zebra Force (1976)
East of Borneo (1931)
Murder By TV (1935)
Ninja Death (Date Unknown)
Paradise in Harlem (1939)

Also, any information on working out whether or not something is PD or not using USCO would be helpful.

Thanks, John

I ran a program that looked for these films in the inventories of
some dealers in p.d. movies (Filmchest, Buyout, Desert_Island, Festival).
Here are the titles that were found.

ALI BABA AND THE SEVEN SARACENS (Desert_Island, Filmchest)
EAST OF BORNEO (Buyout, Filmchest)
PARADISE IN HARLEM (Desert_Island, Festival)

Of course, this doesn't prove anything, but it may give you an idea
of what films to transcode first while waiting for Video-Cellar's analysis.

Isn't the correct title "Murder By TELEVISION"? I know, nitpicking again.

Yes, probably. But I don't think it Makes a difference, I've seen it listed as lots of different things actually like Murder by the Box, Murder on the Set and Murder by TV but I think its actual title is Murder by Televison.

Still, when I searched it at the USCO nothing showed up, no registrations.

No big deal. I think it might already be here anyway. Pretty cool Lugosi flick no matter what you feel like calling it.

The Only film I can find is "Trapped by Television" from 1936 with Lyle Talbot, which is apparentely quite similar to Murder by Television, released the previous year.

I'll upload it anyway.

Maybe "Murder" was taken down. I was sure I saw it here at one point. But by all means give "Trapped" a look, you might like that one too.
